XM-DAC-41114-PROJECT-01003611 United Nations Development Programme The projects main objective is to incorporate the private sector in the definition and implementation of the sustainable development priorities of four pilot municipalities that are in risk of being left behind, contributing with their experiences, management tools, resources, and knowledge, to turbocharge their sustainable municipal development for SDG achievement, focusing on the food systems and the digital transformation transitions. If successful, this pilot initiative will be scaled up to all the 22 municipalities of Cabo Verde, a SIDS country.Three main key results will be achieved:1. Private sector participates, is engaged, and contributes to the conversation / definition of the municipal plan and priorities for the sustainable development of the municipality.2. The tools to facilitate and accelerate private sector´s contribution to municipal sustainable development are provided.3. It focuses on expanding access to labor markets and self-employment, particularly for rural households and informal businesses. Key results include:1. Support for rural households to boost productivity in micro-businesses and self-employment;3. Assistance for informal micro-enterprises to transition into the formal economy.
