Results: In the work that we have done in the year we involved the following partners; a government entity Small and medium enterprise development company (SEDCO), Ministry of Commerce trade and Industry, Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs and the Eswatini Environment Authority. 2.4.1 At least 50% of our learning challenges are providing actionable knowledge to ongoing CO projects Results: A. the work that the Acclab did through the Phatsa sakho nawe project inspired a $600 000 Waste for livelihood projects and a $200 000 SGP Plastic project B. The work that the Acclab did on the informal sector in 2020 led to actionable knowledge to work that is being done under track 2. C. The sensemaking, solutions mapping, collective intelligence and exploration work done by the AccLab on enterprise development inspired a new project development in the Inclusive growth portfolio. 3.1.1 The lab interacts at least once a week with another lab in the network. Results: The Acclab team takes part in the global calls weekly and interacts with the other labs in the network, All three members of the team are on WhatsApp groups and participate in global call within the 3 responsibility areas. Reduced water availability has cascading negative repercussions on Eswatini’s economy, affecting water-dependent sectors such as agriculture, energy, mining, and industry. Moreover, water scarcity leads to reduced productivity in ecosystems, which is crucial for the provision of essential ecosystem resources and services across various sectors. In 2021 Eswatini consumed 6.79 Metric Tons (MT) of HCFC- 22 used to repair and service residential, commercial, and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. Following the phase-out of the consumption of CFCs in domestic and commercial refrigeration equipment, significant quantities of HCFC have been introduced and their use continues to grow.It was therefore imperative that strategic measures are taken to reduce and eliminate the use of such ODS containing equipment in Eswatini to ensure compliance with the Montreal Protocol and combat climate change. With support from the Multilateral Fund, Eswatini initiated the implementation of the Stage 1 of the HPMP from 2010 and it was completed in 2020. In stage I Eswatini successfully achieved the 35% HCFC reduction as per the targets set in the Montreal Protocol and the phase out of HCFCs in the manufacturing (foam making) sector.Having achieved these results in the HPMP Stage I of the HCFC phaseout management plan, new set of strategies and activities have been designed through the HPMP Stage Il to achieve a 67,5% HCFC reduction by 2025, and complete HCFC phase-out by 2030 with a servicing tail of 2.5% until 2040. It will also contribute to reducing the impacts on the land-based activities on the Maputo Bay which is a critical ecosystem.
